We have an opening for a full-time Mechanical Calibration Technician in our Chelmsford, MA, laboratory. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and collaborative.

Primary responsibilities:

Perform NIST traceable and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibrations of mechanical instruments, including but not limited to; micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, pin gages, pressure gages, force gages, torque devices, crimpers, etc...

Skills/Education/Experience:

  • Three years experience as a bench technician (preferred).

  • Will train a candidate with a technical, electrical, or mechanical background.

  • PMEL training or equivalent formal technical training (preferred)

  • Familiar with the requirements of ISO/IEC17025:2017, ISO 9001 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540

  • Computer literate and able to use enterprise lab management software, MS excel.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

  • Excellent math skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.

  • Required to walk, lift small objects, and lift up to 50lbs.

  • Maintain a safety awareness to extreme temperature sources.

Work Environment:

  • Professional office environment.

  • Routinely use office equipment, including computers, copiers, and phones.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized cylinders, chemicals, and high-voltage power.

  • Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
